RITA'S STORY
After being diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease, I did everything in my power to understand and learn all I could about health, nutrition and commercial products. Living a healthy lifestyle was always part of my life, but I went on a mission to dig deeper to learn more about the products I used on my body and the food I ate. To my surprise, most of the products I used on my skin were made of synthetic colors and chemicals; Sulfates, Parabens, Phthalates, Fragrance, Triclosan, Toluene, Talc, Lead, Formaldehyde, Diethanolamine, Alcohol, Hydroquinone, Petrolatum and more. I found it very scary to learn that all my beauty products and soaps had toxic ingredients. Now understand how dangerous these ingredients are, I wish I had taken more control earlier to learn about what was in my every-day products. I didn't stop researching, and also learned that the FDA does not have many regulations around what is put into our everyday products. Most commercial products have toxic chemicals which can cause strange symptoms and diseases.

This is where my journey of making my own soaps started!

My soaps are all made by hand, using cold process method enriched with only skin-loving organic and pure ingredients such as soaping oils and butters: Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Jojoba Butter, Almond Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Castor Oil. They are scented only with high quality essential oils and natural fragrance oils made from plants. Natural clays are added to provide gentle exfoliating benefits and natural fragrances. I use Mica (a natural mined mineral) for color options to create my own custom blend.

I have a passion for gardening and I grow my own herbs and flowers. They are naturally sun-dried and infused for weeks in Pure Olive Oil. These aromatic and antibacterial herbs such as chamomile, rose, and lavender, are ideal for preserving the benefits of plants when added to Cold Process Soap. Herbs and flowers give the soap beautiful textures, natural colors and are used for decoration.
